Our History - Honeywell Hymatic

 

Since the formation of the company in 1937, Honeywell Hymatic has been firmly established within the aircraft equipment industry and has remained at the forefront of the development and implementation of fluid control technology solutions for aerospace and defence applications. For over fifty years the company has been the acknowledged world-wide leader in Joule Thomson cooling technologies for infra-red applications. More recently the development of Stirling cycle cryocoolers has affirmed the company as the premier provider of ultra-high life cooling devices for applications within industrial, communications and space environments.

Honeywell Hymatic is part of the Honeywell Aerospace Airframe Systems (AFS) enterprise, and forms the Centre of Excellence for cryogenic and stored energy technologies within the group. The Honeywell Aerospace strategic business unit of Engines, Systems and Services, offers an unrivalled breadth of products and services, combining systems integration expertise with superior technology and knowledge management results in a proven ability to deliver life cycle value to customers.

Today, Honeywell Hymatic is involved in the supply of equipment for the demanding and often harsh environments of missiles, fighting vehicles, underwater weapons and submarines as well as combat aircraft. Honeywell Hymatic also provides a comprehensive range of Customer Services to support products in service.

For the future, Honeywell Hymatic equipment is already specified for use on many of the major missile programs entering service in the first decade of the 21st century, and is also penetrating new markets, such as Security and Homeland defence with advanced technology, long life cryocoolers. All of this has resulted from the continuous high levels of investment in product development.
